Twitter Will Live Stream Three Bloomberg Daily TV Programs

Twitter continues its growth into video with a Bloomberg Media partnership. The social messaging platform will live stream three Bloomberg TV shows: Bloomberg West, What'd You Miss?, and With All Due Respect, each of which airs weekday afternoons.

Bloomberg calls this partnership an expansion of its digital video strategy, and says it will extend the network's reach to a global audience of over 800 million.

“By partnering with Twitter, viewers from all over the world will now be able to leverage a powerful, real-time platform to consume and react to the news, accelerating our position as a leader in global business video, and offering new and innovative opportunities for our marketing partners,” says Bloomberg Media CEO Justin B. Smith.

According to reports, Twitter and Bloomberg will split video ad revenues 70/30, and ads will stream both on live programming and on on-demand highlight clips.

Earlier this week, Twitter announced that it will live stream video from both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, under a partnership with CBS. The live feed will originate from CBSN, with real-time Twitter commentary running alongside the video.

Reports suggest that Twitter is in talks with the NBA, MLS, and Turner Broadcasting about gaining the rights to live sports content.
