Galax, VA, For Immediate Release - The Streaming Learning Center today announced the availability of a new online course entitled Getting Up and Running With Wowza Streaming Engine 4.8. The course was created by Wowza expert Derrick Freeman and is being offered at an introductory price of $199, which will increase to $349 on January 1, 2021.
The course teaches students how to install, configure, and stream live and VOD video in DASH, HLS, and other ABR formats to computers, phones, tablets, smart TVs, and other devices and endpoints. The course consists of about 40 lessons and quizzes and about three hours of video in concise and logical chunks that accelerate learning and enhance retention. Freeman is an experienced media professional with extensive broadcast and video production experience who has taught media production at Sinclair Community College. He is currently the program manager and webcast producer at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he produces on-line CME webcasts for subscribing hospitals. As a consultant, Freeman started working with Wowza Streaming Engine in 2009 and has helped clients like The South Carolina Legislature, The Public Theater (New York), Toronto Police Service, and El Paso Community College stream live and on-demand video for worldwide distribution.
Commenting on the course, Freeman related, “I’ve been teaching clients how to install and use Wowza Streaming Engine for 11 years, mostly in-person or virtually via Zoom or similar services. The pandemic has increased the need for organizations to implement Wowza for live and VOD streaming while complicating in-person training.
